4th ASEAN Youth Camp
On 18 December 2015, Language and ASEAN Studies Center of Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin arranged the 4th ASEAN Youth Camp opening ceremony under the theme of Countdown to ASEAN. Asst.Prof.Siwa Wasuntarapiwat and the boards of president welcomed M.L. Panadda Diskul, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, who presided over to open the ceremony and had a keynote speech under the title of “The Loyalty of Thai People to the Royal Institution”. Asst.Prof.Siwa Wasuntarapiwat, President of RMUTR, gave the welcoming speech to all guests and participants. Mr. Chatchai Uthaipan, Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province, gave the reported speech about the objectives of this project. After the opening ceremony, we got honored from Mr.Tanong Kanthong, Senior Editor of The Nation Multimedia Group, to lecture about “The Readiness of Thailand to Enter ASEAN” This opening ceremony was arranged at Kachatarn Meeting Room, RMUTR, Salaya Campus.
This camp was arranged on 15-29 December 2015. There were 88 Thai and International students attended this camp. This camp aims to promote the participants’ knowledge about other ASEAN nations’ cultural differences, racial diversity, language using and manners to the ASEAN nations through the activities in camp. Moreover, it also fosters a positive attitude toward the study of the English language for youth. The 4th ASEAN Youth Camp had a main activity under the theme of “ASEAN Free Labor Market in 8 Occupations” in order to countdown to ASEAN. This camp also helped the participants to create a learning opportunity and increase their English skill through various activities. In addition, participants got a great opportunity to explore other ASEAN nations’ cultures, languages, and customs.
